Foxy to the farm
1 |
Me standing by the calves. This farm is a school there the students learn how to be a farmer. They have once a year a day there they show their activity.
We went by car to the farm. Here Ove in his hooded jacket on a path.
These flowers will be sold to gardens.
Me by the creek. | |
The creek had a wonderful blue colour. The sky was clear.
Ove on the bridge. | |
Me on the bridge. | |
The creek on the other side.
This is a container for the cow manure. (dung).
A pig. | |
The hay storing house. And the ensilage in bales of plastic.
Hay in the barn. | |
Hay and litter. | |
Me standing by ensilage bales.
Here some pictures taken 2007-08-01 in
the country place named Olofström. Here you can see how they wrap the
ensilage. First a machine made a kind of roll of the ensilage. |
|
After that the farmer came with a machine with a big roll of plastic. Olofström 2007-08-01.

More ensilage wrapping. Olofström 2007-08-01.
The bales were placed in the field. Olofström 2007-08-01.
Later the farmer came with a tractor and lift up a bale. Olofström 2007-08-01.
The tractor placed the bale on a wagon that will carry it to another place. Olofström 2007-08-01.
I took this picture from the bus on the Blue Road, 2006. You can in several places see these bales lying in the fields like big white flowers.
2008. Back to the farmer school now. The adult cows were all in the meadows. But the calves were inside the barn.
There was a wasp flying behind me and then I put on her hood to protect me from the wasp. I was laughing when the wasp was afraid for her hood and disappeared. :-)
Ove in the big barn by the calves.
The calves. The were turning their head in our direction when we passed because they were excited when people came to visit the barn.
Two calves lying on a bed of litter.
A little calf. | |
An eating calf. | |
Med in the barn. I was smiling when some of the calves said: "Mooooooooooooooo"!
The calves were curious and liked it when people came.
These calves were so cute :)
More calves. The cows were in the fields from May until October. The calves had to be in the barn to get special food and special caring.
A cute cat in the barn. | |
Me standing by a milk container.
We went to the pigs. Me standing by the pigs.
A pig with piglets. | |
The pig talking to her piglets :)
The piglets could not go outside. It should be to cold for them.
At the left you see me taking pictures of the piglets.
The piglets needed warmth and there were a lot of heating lamps in the barn.
The big pigs were allowed to go out, but they could go inside again if they wanted to do this.
Here a pig is going inside.
Another kind of pig. | |
Here they were sleeping.
The wonderful blue creek again.
We looked in a house there they had small animals like rats, birds and fish. On this picture a guinea pig.
They had cute tame rats.(Rattus norvegicus). But all were running around in the enclosure and running and hiding in pipes. I could not get a picture of them and then took a picture of this poster.
It was also difficult to get good picture of the birds, that’s why I shows this poster too.
Here you can see why it’s difficult to get good pictures of the birds.
Goldfish. | |
Two stuffed wild animals, a beaver and a European badger.
Turtles. | |
A swimming turtle. | |
We were outside again. Ove in the foreground. I did not like the clouds in the distance. It looked like bad weather was coming.
The white spots are flying seeds from flowers.
People could take their dogs with them and have dog training.
There were also ponies and the children could ride on them.
The sheep were in the meadow.
The sky went dark. | |
Oh, no! Such a dramatic dark sky!!!!
It started to rain. | |
It was pouring!!! It was hailing too!
Everyone hurried to get shelter. Many people were soaked. But I could take it easy. I had my lilac poncho with a big hood. The camera and backpack were under the poncho and I kept dry.
