The river. Part 2

A cold day in the park

2019-03-12. Happy me in the park by the river.
2019-03-09. Much snow in the park.
2019-03-09. Hills of snow in the park.
2019-03-09. The tractor had piled up the hills.
2019-03-09. The view point. There it was not ploughed. People made this path in the deep snow.
2019-03-09. The river is frozen and there is a lot of snow on the ice.
2019-03-09. Beautiful with the snow on the fir trees.
2019-03-09. I was glad they had ploughed the path. Now I could walk here.
2019-03-09. There was much snow on the ground.
2019-03-09. The Umeå City Church.
2019-03-09. It was the Sami week. then they had the Sami flags on the Church Bridge.

In the park and to the church

2019-03-12. I went to the church today to hear a lunch concert on the organ.
2019-03-12. The bathing boy sculpture by the church. They had put on him a scarf.
2019-03-12. The communion table.
2019-03-12. Today the organist played on the little organ.
2019-03-12. The big organ is in the backside of the church.
2019-03-12. After the concert we had soup. It was carrot soup. You can't see the carrots, because they were grated and are in the bottom of the plate.
2019-03-12. As dessert we had coffee and a cookie. A thin oatmeal biscuit.
2019-03-12. I like this text. It's about the light.

Jesus said: I'm the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

2019-03-12. I lit a candle. I needed the light after the dark winter.
2019-03-12. Later when I was in the park the light of the sun was shining on me.
2019-03-12. I took a walk in the park after the organ concert and soup.
2019-03-12. Icicles on a house. This house is an ice cream stall. But they don't sell ice cream there this time of the year. Nobody should want it..... brrrr!
2019-03-12. 2019-03-12. The snow hills were as high as the sitting place "Free Zone" in the background.
2019-03-12. The frozen river
2019-03-12. People had made a walking path on the ice. Somebody had made it with a snow mobile. But I dare not to go there. The river is rapid under the ice. And the ice can change every day.

2019-03-12. 2019-03-12. The overflow pond is buried under the snow. In winter the town shut off the water for all the ponds.
2019-03-12. This is the round pond in the upper park. Also hidden under the snow.

Ducks by the river

2019-03-13. I made a long walk to west to the Lundåker marina. But in winter the are no boats in the marina.
2019-03-13. It was rather cold and I walked most alone on the path. But I met a nice young woman with a little dog. She also wore a Fjällräven jacket. We had a nice talk. And we did not freeze :-)
2019-03-13. The scaffolding to the pylons for the new bridge are higher now. But in the cold they can't work so much.
2019-03-13. This path will go up to the east side of town.
2019-03-13. They are building new houses on the hill beside the path.
2019-03-13. There was a some open water. There the river is more rapid. Ducks were swimming there.
2019-03-13. People are going here and feed them.
2019-03-13. It looks so cold for them in the snow. But they can stand the cold.

2019-03-13. When the ducks are sitting on snow and ice they put their legs under/inside the feathers.

2019-03-13. The sign behind the ducks is about how the new bridge will look. The bridge is for pedestrians and cyclist. But a car for workers can drive there.
2019-03-13. Here they feed the ducks and birds. Unfortunately the were not birds in the feeder. But I heard them from the trees on the hillside.
