Ducks in the pond by the hospital

2013-01-24. The ducks were eating out of my hand. It was so funny
2013-01-24. I walked to the pond by the hospital. The ducks were flyng to the pond.
2013-01-24. There were many ducks in the pond. This is the only place with open water. This because there is a creek going under the hospital that keeps the water warm. A part if this pond does not freeze. But the other part of the pond is always frozen.
2013-01-24. When I came with food, the ducks were following me. It looked so funny :)
2013-01-24. The ducks also were flying around me.
2013-01-24. Flap, flap, flap.

2013-01-24. They were hungry and I had them around my feet and on my boots.

2013-01-24. The male ducks are so beautiful in the sunlight.
2013-01-24.  They were sitting.
2013-01-24. It's colder on the ground as in the water in the pond. That's why they put their feet under the feathers while sitting.

2013-01-24. I walked to the bridge. Then some ducks flow to the railing of the bridge and were begging for food.
2013-01-24. I gave them food.
2013-01-24. They were eating out of my hand.

Old duck pictures

2007-11-28. I had no picture of me in my duck story of 2013. I will show some old duck pictures of me. This picture is taken by a woman who was with me in the park. I later had this picture as a Christmas card some years ago.
2009-01-19. Here I fed the ducks and also here it was a woman I met in the park who took the picture. One duck was flying up to me and took the food out of my hand.

2008-01-04. There was a barnacle goose by the pond. This goose should have moved but did not.
2007-01-08. Here I fed the barnacle goose. A young man who was a photographer took this picture of me with my camera.
2008-01-14. Me and the barnacle goose. A woman, who also had a red coat and also fed the ducks, took the picture of me.
2009-01-27. Here I was beside a lot of ducks who just had got food from the woman in the red coat. Also this time that woman took a picture of me.
2008-01-09. I called this duck for "The trousers biting duck". He was rather brave and dare to bit in my trousers to remind me he wanted food.

2009-01-07. Here the trousers biting duck was eating out of my hand.
2009-01-07. A hungry female duck.
2009-01-12. This duck had an injured leg. But he understood that if I held the food in my hand, he could fly up and get it. If I had dropped the bread on the ground for him, then others had taken it. Because they could walk faster as this duck.

2009-01-19. These ducks were not afraid and were often sitting on the bridge railing. I gave them names. I called him for Quack-quack because he always sounding like that and I called her for Quackely because she was quacking that way.

2009-03-12. Then he was landing on my hood. I could not see this but I felt it. After a short while I felt that he flew away.

I faked this in Photo shop because it is fun to remember this and to see how it looked.

2009-03-12. This duck was also a mallard but he had other colours. It was an unusual mallard.

2009-03-19. I fed the duck, who had injured his leg, again.

I always feel so happy when I am with the ducks :-) And have nice memories of the time I could go there every day on my lunch break.
