The Gammlia
woods | ||
2013-01-25. Me by the fire in the woods.
2013-01-25. There were heavy clouds in the sky and that made the woods dark.
2013-01-25. It looks like the pictures are taken in black and white
2013-01-25. But still it was beautiful.
2013-01-25. I met some of the staff who use to care for the area in winter. They had picked up twigs and fire wood that they could not use. They made a fire in the snow to burn it. It was nice and cosy by the fire. While waiting for the fire to burn down we had a nice talk. You may not lit a fire yourself in these woods. Only the staff may do it.
But they made a fireplace for
visitors at the Gammlia. There you may lit a fire with the
firewood they put there. They use fire wood of birches. Wood of other tree can give out sparks. And that's dangerous. OBSERVE: I took this picture of the public fireplace January 2012. Families can come with children and grill sausages.
2013-01-25. After the fire hade burned down that we all walked on the path to the museum.
2013-01-26. I was in the woods again. Also this was a grey day. The only thing that was brighten up the woods was my red jacket.
2013-01-26. The light from the sky and the sun makes the colour in the snow. The landscape and woods are most beautiful with a clear blue ski or a sunset / sunrise. With a grey sky it looks like a black and white picture.
2013-01-26. There was a lot of snow on these bricks.
2013-01-26. Despite of the dark sky, the woods were still magical.
2013-01-26. The South Sami house.
2013-01-26. The lonely wooden reindeer was always happy when I passed. :)
2013-01-26. The sun was trying to shine through the clouds.
2013-01-26. But the sun disappeared again.
2013-01-26. | ||
2013-01-26. Again I passed this Sami house.
I remember the Christmas market when there was a woman in the house telling stories for children. And the stove was burning and we had it warm and cosy inside. It was so peaceful in the house.
2013-01-26. The trees still were bowed because of the snow.
2013-01-26. On my way back to Gammlia
2013-01-26 This little tree was also bowed because of the snow.
2013-01-26. Another picture that looks black and white because of the grey sky.
2013-01-26. When I was on my way home the sky was beginning to be clear.
2013-01-30. I took this picture through the window of the front door in the building. A lot of great tits were sitting there. But I did not see any food on the ground. There is only grit. I never figured out what they were eating. Or maybe they only were searching for food.
2013-01-30. Not a good picture. I could not open the door because then they should fly away.
Hills and walls of snow | ||
2013-01-31. The workers need to
plow the streets and the paths. Otherwise you can't walk or drive.
The snow that they take from the roads has to be somewhere. That's why
there are big hills of snow beside the roads. My shopping bag is standing by the hill.
2013-01-31. Here another hill.
2013-01-31. Sometimes these hills or walls block the short cuts. You have to go round and go longer.
2013-01-31. A street with walls of snow.
2013-01-31. This sign is on a high post. But the hill almost reach the sign.
2013-02-11. This snow hill on the yard is as high as the trash house.
2013-02-11. These signs were destroyed of a tractor that was plowing.
2013-02-13. High walls of snow in our street. The side walk is gone under the snow, you need to walk on the road and watch out for the cars. My kick sled on the left.
2013-02-13. I hope they will come with the big snow blower and take away the snow beside the wall the blocks the sidewalk.
2013-02-13. More snow walls in our street.
This is a big snow blower. A bit of a tractor at the right. The snow blower blows the snow on a truck. The truck will take the snow to a dumping place. They do this when there is no space left in the street for the snow. I took this picture 2011-09-20.
2013-02-20. Snow hill on our yard.
2013-02-21. The wooden railing at the right is a railing of a bridge over a little creek. The creek is frozen and snowed over and they made a snow hill on the creek.
2013-02-21. A snow hill by the hospital.
2013-02-21.A snow hill by the hospital near the pond. Later there will come a tractor that put the snow on trucks . The trucks will take it to a snow dumping place. Otherwise it should melt and the water should flood in the pond and the park.
2013-02-21. A snow hill by the university. The path beside the hill is grey because they sprinkled grit on it, so it will not be slippery.
2013-02-21. A snow hill on the Mariehem road. Not all snow hills will be taken away to a dumping place. Most of it has to melt by itself.
All these snow hills and walls are blocking the thoroughfare on many places in town. The streets are more narrow and you can't use short cuts to walk to a place.
