Snow sculptures and
some other winter pictures

2013-02-01. Me standing by a big cube of snow. This cube will be a snow sculpture.
2013-02-01. They are beginning to build the snow sculptures.

2013-02-01. They needed a ladder because the cubes were high.
2013-02-04. This sculpture is named "Renklämma" a renklämma is a sandwich often made of flat bread. You put reindeer meat on it an roll the bread so he meat is inside the bread. The word "klämma" means in this case that you squeeze the meat inside the bread. But this sculpture is a reindeer with a kind of clip artwork on it.

2013-02-04. This is a bear eating a fish. But the ears of the bear are broken and the fish is broken too.

2013-02-04. This seems to be 2 bread with stuffing inside. And there is too much stuff in it, so a part is running out.

2013-02-04. This time they put a snowball on the Standing man like it was a tuft on a hat.

Some other winter pictures

2013-02-06. I made a dough for bread. It was rising and almost leaving the bowl. It's warm and cosy in the cold winter to have the oven on.
2013-02-05. I made rolls / buns of the dough. Here the bread is ready, the bread was were delicious.
2013-02-06. I walked to the Glass house in town. (This picture was taken in December) There are heaters under the street and that's why you don't see snow on the ground.
2013-02-06.  They had en event for the Sami National day. You could go there if you wanted to know morea bout  the Sami. I was there as a visitor, listening to information about the Sami. Here I'm holding the Sami flag. I like the colours o this flag.
2013-02-08. This is not a rainbow. It's a winter bow. I cal it for a "snow bow" :) It looks like a column. There were two of them but I only got one on the picture. It was beautiful.
2013-02-11. I was on my way home from the grocery shop. And found this car that was snowed over.
2013-02-11. I also took a picture of my shopping trolley. Somebody was walking behind the wall of snow. He came on the picture.
2013-02-11. It was Ove who had bought flowers to me :-) Ove has the same arctic jacket as I have, but he has one in dark green.
2013-02-11. Ove gave me the flowers. But these are well wrapped in newspaper and wrapping paper. Otherwise they should freeze. And we could not be out with the wrapped flower too long time. I have mittens made of wool over my gloves.
2013-02-11. Me in winter outside and spring inside the package.
2013-02-11. Ove bought tulips to me. These are for Valentine.
2013-02-12. Today it was Fettisdag (Shrove Tuesday) then we eat this bun named "Semla"
2013-02-12. We first had some mushroom soup and the semla as dessert.

Left: My cheap leather gloves. I use these when I go to town there I often must take off them. If I should loose them I can easy buy a new similar pair. Many people here are loosing gloves. You can find lost gloves everywhere.

Middle: My expensive hunter gloves. These are pliable and I can handle the camera and take picture without taking off them. This is very good because then my hands will not be cold. I only use these on my walk there I don't need to take off them.

Right: My big knitted mittens made of wool. I use these when it's very cold. Then I put them over my leather or hunter gloves.

I have a cloth pin on every pair of gloves when I store them on the shelf. Then they will not be mixed up and it's easier to find the pair I want to use.
2013-02-13. They were taking away snow form a roof in town.

2013-02-13. They blocked the sidewalk because there came down a lot of snow and ice.
2013-02-13. It's dangerous to get icy snow on your head. So nobody may walk there while they are working
2013-02-14. I bought shrimp pastries for Valentine. These are not sweet. This is food.
2013-02-14. We lit a candle and had a nice evening.
2013-02-15. I ordered these Fjällräven forest trousers. Today they arrived to the store.
2013-02-21. I saw these smilies in the snow at Campus.
2013-02-21. This is a little creek at Campus. But it's snowed over.
2013-02-21. I saw this beside the bus station by the hospital.
2013-02-21. It's a bench that was snowed over and almost hidden under the snow.
2013-02-23. They made a snowman on the other side of the yard. I took this with the telephoto lens, there is a little snow wall and som twigs in front of the snowmen.
