Walking at Gammlia open air museum
and in the Gammlia woods.
December 2014

Me in my red Arctic Fjällräven jacket walking in the Gammlia woods. It was -21 degrees  Celsius (5.8 Fahrenheit) but I did not need to freeze. I kept warm in my cosy jacket.

2014-12-20.
This day I was walking in the soft blue winter light.

2014-12-20. Somebody had made a squirrel of snow on the tree. This looked real funny :-)

2014-12-20. The Gammlia woods were magical after it snowed.
2014-12-20. It was so peaceful and so gorgeous.

2014-12-20. I had to bend me because there was a lot of snow on the trees.

2014-12-20. There were many birds gathering. I firs thought they were waxwings. But they did not sound like them.
2014-12-20. It were fieldfare  (Turdus pilaris) It seemed they should move because there were many of them.

This day I had to go out early, because I should celebrate Christmas with my family. Then I was walking in "The Blue Hour".
2014-12-24. It was so silent. Nobody was out.

2014-12-24. This bench was not taken in for the winter.  Now it had a cushion of snow.
2014-12-24. I did not sit down on the bank. I enjoyed the trees that were covered of snow.
2014-12-24. I had to walk in deep snow, it was snowing again the night before.
2014-12-24. The fieldfares were gone. They had moved. Now there were a lot off waxwings in the trees.

This day I had more time to be out and was there at lunch time. I was walking in the low sunlight.

2014-12-25. The sun did not reach the ground but I could see the sunlight in the treetops.

I only was out a little while, we should have guests for lunch. But I could enjoy the woods a short time.

2014-12-26. Also today the woods were magical.

This day I also was there at lunch time. The orange light of the sun was beautiful.

2014-12-28. I visited Västerbottens museum. A beautiful decoration. Somebody who works at Gammlia made it. You can see the church through the window.

In the morning I had to walk to the grocery shop. At lunch I heard on the radio the there should be rain the next day. Then I hurried out to see the woods one more time.
It was already getting dark. I had a walk in "the blue hour". I looked at the hoar frost and enjoyed the silence.

2014-12-29. Nobody was here. It was so peaceful, it made me calm and gave me strength.

In the years that have passed I had many nice adventures in the Gammlia woods and Gammlia. This  picture of me is taken in the Gammlia woods 2012. It was snowing and cold. But I kept warm. :)
