On the dark road again

2017-10-27. Me in Rundvik. The bay in the background
I thought I should not need to go on the dark and lonely road again. Stay in my own town and only go out in day time when there was  light. But I had to go on a funeral in the village Rundvik. The nice red church was lying by the bay. It was a peaceful place.
Lennart brought us there with the car. He also was on the funeral.

It started snowing the day before. But we were lucky a part of it melted The E4 was free from snow and not slippery. But on the sides of the road there was  was snow.

I will first show some pictures of the E4 road taken from the car in day light.
It looked like Christmas in the woods.
The weather was cloudy and everything looked grey. But at least we had day light.
Look at the post on the right of the picture. There is a reflector on it. They put out these poles that are reflecting when you are driving in the darkness.
.
.
There are many signs with warnings for moose on the road.
Some years ago we saw a moose on the road beside this lake.
They did road work. but the workers were not there today.
.
It was not a major road work. They only should fix the central barrier on the middle of the road.
We crossed a river.
Soon we should be in Rundvik. Vi had to cross a road by driving over a viaduct.
There was no snow at all in Rundvik. Here it was autumn. Such a relieve. Now I could go safe from the car to the church.
Rundviks kyrkan is such a pretty church.
The bell tower was standing beside the church.
A picture of the organ in the backside of the church. Unfortunately I could not take a picture in the front of the church. The people at the funeral were sitting there.
After the service we went with our cars to the place there we should get dinner.
Now we were in the woods on a gravelled  road
We passed a bit of the bay.
The dog that belongs to one of the people.
There was a cut cat in the house there we should get dinner.
It was impossible to get a better picture of the cat.
He, he, funny cat ;)
The bay.
There were bird feeders by the house. I enjoyed it so much to see the great tits.
Another great tit.
The food I took on my plate from the buffet.
The cake.

The dark road

Now we were on the dark and lonely road. Not many people are living here in the forest. Lennart had the head lights on otherwise it should have been absolutely dark.
There were plow pins beside the forest road. They put out them before the snow comes.
The plow pins has reflectors and it was real nice to see all the reflecting and glistening spots.
Lamp-posts in the distance. Soon we should leave the forest road and be on the E4.
On the E4.
The white lines are a good help in the darkness. It started raining and the road became darker.
Soon in Umeå
We passed IKEA. Now we were in Umeå

It was hard to go on a funeral. It was sad. There was darkness even though it was day time. I saw many tears and we had to give each other comfort. And we had to pray and ask God to give us strength. I was glad I could go there and be with the people.

We came safe home.

And the light shone in the darkness
And the darkness comprehended it not
