2010-04-22. Foxy on the boat to Germany.
In this page I will tell about the road trip in Sweden, the boat trip to Germany and the road trip in Germany.
2010-04-21. The trip to Holland started here. In front of Hotel Plaza. There the bus should pick us up at 02.30. In the middle of the night! There was still frost and I should have needed a winter jacket. But a winter jacket should have been to warm for Holland. I had to take my summer jacket (The Red Foxy jacket) and suffer in the cold.
I was so happy when the buss finally came and we could be warm in the bus.
It was real strange to be on the road at night. I had this song in her mind: "It's a dark and lonely road". There was not much traffic. There were only trucks on the road. We slept a while in the bus.
The sun went up we awoke when the bus stopped in Örnsköldsvik. But slept again. And I did not awake when the bus drove over the big bridge named Höga Kusten Bron (The High Coats bridge). So I missed the bridge and the nice view. Argh! :-(

We had to be in the bus a long time. Finally it was lunch time and the bus stopped at the Inn and restaurant Tönnebro. The place is named after the lake that is behind the Inn. Black hooded Ove in the middle of the picture.
After eaten the lunch we walked around over the parking lot. I took a picture of this cute gull.
Then there was a real surprise. There were two Canada geese in the grass near the restaurant. The grass was still dead after the winter.
I was so excited and could get a closer picture of them too.

In the afternoon we stopped by a bar and had coffee break. Black hooded Ove in the middle of the picture. Another red hooded woman at the left.

I was exercising on the parking lot. It was cold and I had to keep warm by walking around.
The sky went black and suddenly it started snowing. It was wet snow that did not stuck on the ground. In April we can get such snow flurries. We all were happy to be in the bus when it was snowing.
I was happy when the buss arrived in Goteborg and we all could get aboard on the boat Stena Germanica. It was raining in Goteborg. But never mind, I had my hood and it was not so far to walk from the bus to the boat.

There was a buffet and you could take what you liked. I like the fish very much. Smoked salmon, boiled salmon, pickled herring, egg , boiled potatoes and Baltic small herring (the breaded fish).
Small Swedish meatballs, prince sausage, fried potatoes, beef and a thin slice of pork.
We left Goteborg and went under a high bridge.
The sun came through the clouds.
The water drops on the boat window were gorgeous.
I enjoyed the dinner very much. And was happy to look out of the window to the sea.
Now the boat was on the open sea. I was in the hall of the boat and wrote in my journal about the trip. Later I was listening to a singer on the boat.
The cabin was nice.

After the breakfast I was on deck. I felt so happy to see the sea.

View on deck. Nobody was out. It was rather early in the morning and windy. But we had good wind proof clothes. We still were on the open sea.

Later in the morning. Still no people who dare to go out.
I liked it to be on deck. And was on deck almost the whole trip this day.

We had lunch in this nice restaurant. Me in front of the door.
They had a delicious asparagus soup made of yellow asparagus. And a good German beer.
We got home made bread to the soup.

Advertisement. You could get a BIG schnitzel. But we only had the soup and bread.
We walked around a while in front of the restaurant.
Here it was spring.
I'm typing the number to Lennart on my mobile phone. I missed him and missed Sweden. It was wonderful to talk with Lennart on the phone.
